(PARK HILLS) – Mineral Area Council on the Arts’ final concert of their 2016-2017 season will feature the Saint Louis Wind Symphony at the Ste. Genevieve R-II Performing Arts Center in Ste. Genevieve. The performance is set for 3 p.m., Sunday, April 2.

Tickets are $10 adults and $5 students and may be purchased online via, at the Mineral Area College Bookstore, and at the door.

The Saint Louis Wind Symphony is committed to enriching the community by sharing their music with a diverse spectrum of local audiences. Established in 1998, they are a non-profit, all-volunteer concert band organization, dedicated to the highest quality performance of the finest wind literature. Their 65 musicians hail from across Missouri and Illinois. A majority of their members are current or former music educators who believe that the importance of music is demonstrated not only by passing the knowledge of it onto others, but also by participating in its creation.

“The Saint Louis Wind Symphony has become known as one of the Midwest's premier concert band organizations,” said Danielle Basler, MACOA Executive Director. “Our audience will be treated to an exceptional performance of literature by some of the most prominent wind band composers.”

In keeping with the group’s theme for their 19th season “Festival of Composers,” the concert will feature pieces by various composers including Alfred Reed, Ralph Vaughn Williams, John Philip Sousa, Phillip Sparke, Clifton Williams and others.
