Phlebotomy Technician

Become a Phlebotomist in just 7 weeks!

Successful completion of this short-term training program prepares students to work as a phlebotomist at local healthcare facilities. The program teaches the information, techniques, and procedures necessary to safely and efficiently procure blood and nonblood specimens and offers hands-on practice in both a controlled lab setting and in clinical experiences. Students also gain working knowledge of infection prevention, learn how to communicate effectively with patients, and understand their role in the healthcare setting.

Phlebotomy Technician

160 Program Hours
80 classroom/80 clinical

Class includes:

  • First 5 weeks: Classroom Instruction and Lab Practice
  • Final 2 weeks: Clinical Rotations
    Times of the clinical rotations are at the discretion of the employer partners. 

Course Topics Include:

  • Proper collection of blood and nonblood specimens
  • Circulatory System
  • Safe handling of lab specimens
  • Understanding the Role of the Phlebotomist
  • HIPPA

Tuition: $2,400*
Tuition includes:

  • 80 classroom hours of instruction
  • 80 clinical hours of experience
  • Textbook
  • Drug test
  • Criminal background check
  • Lab fees

Students are responsible for procuring and providing proof of:

  • Flu vaccine
  • Covid-19 vaccine
  • MMR vaccine or a Titer proving prior exposure
  • TB Skin Test

 

* Students may drop a program three (3) business days before the start date and receive a full tuition refund. Incurred costs associated with the class will not be refunded, such as background checks, drug tests, or other supplies or textbooks that were not returned unopened. Students who drop after the 3-day grace period are not eligible for a refund.
