Cape Girardeau County
Development of a new MAC Tech facility near the I-55 Fruitland exit, made possible by a generous land donation from Drury Southwest.
The facility will feature flexible classrooms and industry-standard shop spaces, with program offerings determined through close collaboration with community and industry leaders.
The following programs are planned for the Cape County location:
- Construction Building Technology
- Automotive Technology
- Engineering Technology - Manufacturing
- Heating, AC, and Refrigeration Technology
- Electrical/Electronics Technology
These programs are designed to serve the adult, post-high school population. MAC is not looking to compete with the Cape CTC, but would offer those students a local opportunity for a next step to additional credentials or an associate degree.
MAC will work with the Cape Girardeau and Jackson School Districts, including the Cape Girardeau CTC, to ensure we are providing the next steps for students. The proposed programs will complement the great work already being done in the local school districts and will not duplicate existing services.
Ste. Genevieve County
Construction of a new MAC Tech facility on Progress Parkway in Ste. Genevieve, facilitated by a long-term lease agreement with the city.
The facility will feature flexible classrooms and industry-standard shop spaces. MAC will collaborate with local industry and community leaders to determine which of the many MAC Tech programs are most needed at the Ste. Genevieve location.
These programs are designed to serve the adult, post-high school population. MAC is not looking to compete with the Perryville Area CTC, but would offer those students a local opportunity for a next step to additional credentials or an associate degree. The Ste. Genevieve location may also offer some general education coursework.
MAC will work with the Ste. Genevieve and Perry County School Districts, including the Perryville Area CTC, to ensure we are providing the next steps for students. The programs will complement the great work already being done in the local school districts and will not duplicate existing services.
Perryville
Establishment of a dental hygiene program at the Perryville Outreach Center, filling a healthcare skills gap in Southeast Missouri.
How much will the expansion project cost?
The total cost of the project is estimated at $30 million.
How will this expansion project be funded?
MAC is seeking state appropriations and private funding for this project. No tax initiatives are tied to this expansion.
When would construction begin?
If funded in the state's FY26 budget, construction could begin as soon as Fall 2025.
What programs would be offered at the Cape County or Ste. Genevieve locations?
MAC would work with local community and industry leaders to determine the ideal programs for each location.
What student population would these programs serve?
The new MAC Tech facilities would serve the post-high school student population. We are not looking to compete with the existing Career and Technical Centers (CTC) in Cape Girardeau and Perryville.
The new facilities and programs are designed for adults and post-high school learners, serving as the next step for graduates of local career and technical centers (CTCs), such as the Cape Girardeau CTC and Perryville Area CTC. These MAC Tech programs will offer CTC graduates a local opportunity to gain additional CTE credentials or an associate degree.
