The vehicle is a 2015 Toyota Corolla and has 125,000 miles.
It was donated to the MAC Auto Tech department where students, under the guidance of instructor James Whaley, made a few needed repairs. It's now ready to be given to a lucky MAC student!
A committee of MAC Foundation Board Members will select a winner from the form submissions received by Friday, February 21.
The chosen student will be notified during the last week of February, and an official announcement will be made on Friday, February 28.
The contest is open to current Mineral Area College students who are at least 18 years of age, a U.S. citizen, and in good academic standing during the Spring 2025 semester. The student must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours for Spring 2025 (full-time status). High school students are not eligible. MAC Employees, MAC Board of Trustees, and MAC Foundation Board Members or their immediate families are not eligible. Applications must be received via the electronic form by Friday, February 21. To accept the award, the winner must agree to have their story and photo shared in social media and traditional media promotion. The winner assumes responsibility for taxes, registration, insurance, and any applicable fees, and/or costs after taking delivery of the vehicle.
