Intersession Classes

Mineral Area College offers a four-week Intersession between the fall and spring semesters. Classes taught during this term are online and accelerated, offering students the opportunity to earn additional credit during the winter break.

Intersession classes will be held December 16, 2024 to January 10, 2025

 

FAQ's

Most of the courses available during Intersession have MOTR numbers, which offer a transfer guarantee at Missouri public colleges and universities.

The classes are open to current MAC students or visiting students:

  • Introduction to Biological Science (MOTR BIOL 100)
  • Business Ethics (MOTR PHIL 102P)
  • Earth Science I (MOTR GEOL 100)
  • General Psychology I (MOTR PSYC 100)
  • Human Growth & Development (MOTR PSYC 200)
  • General Sociology (MOTR SOCI 101)
  • First Year Seminar

Intersession classes are taught online.

  • Students complete coursework online by following a defined course schedule and meeting specific deadlines.
  • Courses do not have scheduled meeting times; however, select courses may require student attendance as needed to meet course objectives (e.g., proctored exams, field experience, interviews).
  • Students must have access to regular and reliable high-speed internet.

Intersession enrollment opens with Spring 2025 registration.

Students may enroll in only one class during the Intersession term. Classes are open to current MAC students or visiting students. 

  • Monday, October 14: Registration opens for currently enrolled students with minimum 30 credit hours earned 
  • Wednesday, October 16: Registration opens for currently enrolled students 
  • Monday, October 21: Open registration begins

How do I enroll?

  • Current MAC students should meet with their navigator to enroll.
  • Visiting students can get started by applying to MAC

 

Intersession is considered part of the Spring 2025 semester.

To find Intersession classes, choose Spring 2025-Intersession Courses in the Term drop-down menu in Course Search

To be eligible for financial aid for courses taken during the Intersession, students need to enroll in the spring semester and comply with all spring semester financial aid requirements. Intersession courses are considered part of a student’s spring course load for determining financial aid eligibility.

Mineral Area College offices are closed for Winter Break from Tuesday, December 24-Wednesday, January 1.

As Intersession classes are held online, enrolled students will have online access to their instructor via e-mail and MyMAC during the full four-week session, but during Winter Break, no tutoring or on-campus support services will be available.
