Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration

Our Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration program offers hands-on training in current technology for diagnosing, servicing, repairing, installing, and maintaining heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, and energy systems. 

Classes are held in a dedicated, brand-new 4,800 sq. ft. building located off College Road on Mineral Area College's Park Hills campus. State-of-the-art HVAC trainers, virtual trainers, new and old equipment, and sheet metal fabrication equipment fill the space to give all students the hands-on knowledge and experience needed to excel in their field.

Take your next step to an HVAC/R career!

Students in the HVAC/R program are prepared to earn the following certifications:

  • First Aid/CPR
  • EPA Section 608 (refrigerant handling)*
  • 410a Refrigerant Handling*
  • Green Awareness Certification
  • Employment Ready Certifications

*Required to be employable

An accredited certificate program, Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Technology, is a one-year program designed to provide the student with basic skills essential for entry into the HVAC/R field.

Certificate Plan

 

The Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree is designed for the student who wishes to seek employment immediately after completing the two-year program. AAS degrees require a general education component consisting of college-level coursework, including all relevant prerequisites.

This program is partially funded through a Workforce Training Initiative which combines a Community Block Development Grant (CDBG) and Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) Tax Credits from the State of Missouri.  MAC received $738k in funding for this initiative and invested $75k to help bring high-demand training programs to our region.
