Welding Program

Skilled welders are needed in our region and beyond! Now's the time to get trained to help start your career as a welder.

We offer comprehensive welding training in Gas Metal Arc Welding, Flux-Core Arc Welding, Gas Shield Metal Arc Welding, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, Aluminum Welding, Cutting & Fabrication, and Welding Foundations. Training conforms to American Welding Society (AWS) standards.

Classes are held in the 4,800 sq. ft. William Dickerson Welding Technology Center, located off College Road on Mineral Area College's Park Hills campus.

Take your next step to a welding career!

An accredited certificate program, the Advanced Multi-Process Welding Certificate is a 12-month course that offers welding training in addition to employment skill development.

Students earn college credit in the program and have the opportunity to apply for federal financial aid.

Nathan Ellett
Welding Instructor

Nathan comes to MAC with over 20 years of professional experience as a millwright and welder, working at a wide variety of industrial sites throughout the Midwest and Midsouth. He has held ten different American Welding Society (AWS) certifications in five different processes and is an AWS Certified Welding Inspector and Certified Welding Educator.

This program is partially funded through a Workforce Training Initiative which combines a Community Block Development Grant (CDBG) and Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) Tax Credits from the State of Missouri. The initiative supports the welding building and program as well as three new short-term healthcare programs. MAC received $738k in funding for this initiative and invested $75k to help bring high-demand training programs to our region.
