MAC Automotive Tech Receives ASE Education Foundation Certification
Mineral Area College is proud to announce that its MAC Tech Automotive Technology program has received accreditation from the ASE Education Foundation. This designation recognizes programs that meet the highest national standards for automotive technician training.
To achieve this accreditation, the MAC Tech program underwent a rigorous evaluation process, ensuring its curriculum, facilities, and equipment align with the strict industry standards set by the ASE Education Foundation. This seal of approval confirms that students are receiving an education that is current, relevant, and respected by the automotive industry.
“We compliment MAC Tech for attaining the level of excellence recognized by the ASE Education Foundation,” the Foundation stated in its official notification. “Both the educational and automotive communities should be proud of your commitment to a quality automotive training program.”
The accreditation serves as a bridge between the classroom and the professional world. For students, it ensures they are learning the exact skills required by modern employers. For local repair facilities and dealerships, it provides a pipeline of highly qualified, career-ready technicians.
Key benefits of the ASE Education Foundation accreditation include national recognition, which validates the program’s excellence on a national stage; an up-to-date curriculum that ensures training mirrors the rapidly evolving technology in modern vehicles; and career readiness, allowing graduates to enter the workforce with a competitive edge, backed by industry-vetted training.
Automotive Technology instructor James Whaley is also excited about additional nationwide scholarship opportunities students can now compete for since the program has received the ASE designation.
“This accreditation is a testament to the hard work of James Whaley, the ASE Advisory Committee, and their shared commitment to student success,” said Dr. Keith Zoromski, Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs. “At MAC, our mission is to provide an excellent, affordable education that prepares students for real-world careers. This proves that our automotive program meets the highest national benchmarks, ensuring our students gain the specialized skills necessary to thrive in today’s workforce.”
Applications are being accepted now for the Automotive Technology program’s fall cohort, which begins in August.
