Jaycox Receives MCCA Administrative Professional Leadership Award
Dan Jaycox received the Administrative Professional Leadership Award from the Missouri Community College Association (MCCA) at the organization’s annual convention on Thursday, November 13, in St. Charles, MO.
Jaycox was nominated by Mineral Area College (MAC) for his work with the EXCEL TRIO Student Support Services program, where he served as Director before accepting a full-time faculty position at East Central College this summer. He continues to teach at MAC as an adjunct instructor.
As Director of the EXCEL program, he placed student success at the center of his work, bringing empathy, insight, and unwavering encouragement to every student interaction. He's been a regular, encouraging face at MAC athletic games and art exhibits, focusing on supporting students as individuals, not just learners in a classroom. This genuine commitment to relationships is why his students trust him deeply—some have even asked him to represent their family during special events like Sophomore Night.
Jaycox is equally effective as a behind-the-scenes problem-solver and a visible campus leader, with colleagues describing him as someone who "gets things done" and whose "dedication to the college is second to none."
Mineral Area College proudly congratulates Dan Jaycox on this well-deserved recognition of his outstanding leadership and service to the college community.
