DESE Approved Substitute Certification Training

Mineral Area College, in conjunction with Jefferson College, East Central College, Three Rivers College, and Central Methodist University, received a $3.9 million dollar grant from the department of labor to establish apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs in manufacturing, nursing, and education.

In coordination with the Department of Elementary & Secondary Education, MAC has established a 20 hour DESE-Approved Substitute Certification Training as an alternative route to substitute certification for qualifying applicants.

If you have already successfully completed 36+ college credit hours from an accredited institution, this training may not be needed. Please reach out to Dr. Shawn Young for help becoming a certified substitute!
