Mineral Area College (MAC) is pleased to announce that its concurrent enrollment (dual credit/dual enrollment) program has earned reaccreditation by the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP). This designation recognizes MAC’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence, ensuring local high school students receive a high-quality, seamless bridge to higher education.
MAC is part of a select group of colleges and universities recognized during NACEP’s 2025–2026 accreditation cycle. Nationally, NACEP accredited just 22 concurrent enrollment programs this year, bringing the total to 136 accredited programs across 132 institutions in 27 states.
As the sole national accrediting body for concurrent enrollment partnerships, NACEP ensures that college courses taught by high school teachers match the rigorous academic standards of those taught on the sponsoring college campus. To secure reaccreditation, MAC underwent a comprehensive peer review, demonstrating adherence to NACEP’s stringent national standards across curriculum, faculty, students, assessment, and program evaluation.
Dr. Keith Zoromski, Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, noted that the achievement reflects MAC's dedication to education in our region and praised the collective effort required to earn the distinction.
"This reaffirmation reflects the commitment of Mineral Area College to ensuring that students in the communities we serve have access to excellent, affordable opportunities for learning, personal growth, and career development right in their high school setting," said Zoromski. "It is important to note that this would not have been possible without our dedicated team and everyone who contributed in support. They spent months on the application process and represented the college with distinction."
MAC’s concurrent enrollment program enables qualified high school students to take college courses taught by approved high school instructors or college faculty. By fulfilling high school and college requirements simultaneously, students save money on tuition, accelerate their degree timelines, and experience an easier transition to higher education.
"This is a great achievement for Mineral Area College and the high schools that we partner with,” said MAC Concurrent Enrollment Coordinator Allie Wisker-Brooks. “It truly highlights the quality of instruction and the support that our local students have on the paths to achieving their goals. I am so thankful for all of the teachers, staff, and administrators at both MAC and the partner high schools who have helped ensure the continued success of this program.”
