Edgar Named to All-Missouri Academic Team

Mineral Area College (MAC) student Ashley Edgar was named to the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) All-Missouri Team during an awards luncheon held April 9, 2026, at Stephens College. Hosted by the Missouri Community College Association (MCCA), the event recognizes the state’s most outstanding two-year college students for their academic excellence, leadership, and community service.

PTK Lambda Chapter Advisor Alison Sheets shared that in addition to thriving in the classroom, Edgar has been a valued member of PTK whose leadership was pivotal to the success of a recent campus outreach project.

“In October, Ashley was instrumental in reaching out to the Potosi Elks Club for an off-campus toiletry collection site,” Sheets said. “With the addition of this community partnership, our PTK chapter collected 100 more toiletry items for enlisted men and women serving at the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.”

Edgar, a Potosi resident, will graduate from MAC this spring with an Associate of Arts. A consistent Dean’s List student, she has been active on campus with the Lambda chapter of PTK and the National Society of Leadership and Success. Following graduation, she plans to transfer to Missouri S&T to pursue a degree in geological engineering.
