MAC Awarded DEWALT® Grow the Trades Grant

MAC Tech Industry and Technology Programs at Mineral Area College is thrilled to receive a DEWALT® Grow the Trades Grant to help support the college’s vocational skills training program in Construction and Building Technology.

In recognition of an estimated 10 million global manufacturing jobs currently unfilled, DEWALT has committed $30 million over five years to nonprofits that can help close the skills gap and grow the trades through skills training and reskilling programs.

MAC Provost Dr. Keith Zoromski says the $50,000 grant will be used to invest in quality tools and supplies to support the Construction and Building Technology program.

“The grant will support students and will further the institutional mission to serve the community, to provide students a quality, affordable education, and to offer opportunities for professional and personal development,” Zoromski said. “The tools and supplies purchased will directly enhance campus and community construction and building projects included in the program coursework.”

Zoromski added that he, along with MAC President Dr. Joe Gilgour, are thankful for their MAC colleagues who represented the program with distinction to receive the funds and for DEWALT’s investment and support toward the program’s growth.
