Mineral Area College graphic designer Cory King recently received national recognition for his work, earning a Paragon Award from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations in March at the association’s national conference.

King received the Silver Paragon Award for the MAC Little Theatre Guild Godspell poster.

The poster was designed to advertise the April 2021 production of “Godspell.” King worked closely with the show’s director to visually bring the production’s spirit to life; the final artwork was a combination of symbolism and imagery used to engage the viewer and encourage interest in the performance.

MAC Executive Director of College Communications Danielle Basler said that the award is a testament to King’s talent and dedication to creating great design.

“Cory’s work ethic, artistic talent, and attention to detail are outstanding,” said Basler. “He certainly deserves this honor, and we’re proud to have him on our marketing team.”

Other finalists in the Poster-Single category included gold winner Cuyahoga Community College (Ohio) and bronze winner Elgin Community College (Illinois).
